City of Sherwood Hires Keith Campbell as City Manager
The City of Sherwood is pleased to announce that the City Council has hired Keith Campbell to serve as Sherwood’s next City Manager. Campbell currently serves as the City Manager for the City of Stayton, Oregon and was selected from among 34 applicants for the position following a national recruitment effort.
“I am incredibly honored and humbled for the opportunity to become the next City Manager of Sherwood,” Campbell said. “My family and I are excited to become part of the Sherwood community. I look forward to working collaboratively with the stakeholders, governing body, and staff to continue to make Sherwood an outstanding place to live, work, and play.”
Campbell brings over seven years of city manager experience and over fifteen years of local government experience in Oregon and Kansas. He earned a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Kansas and is an International City/County Management Association (ICMA) Credentialed Manager.
“We are very excited to have Keith joining the City,” said Mayor Keith Mays. “We have a number of important economic development and community projects underway, including expansion of Sherwood Broadband, construction of a pedestrian bridge over 99W, and updating the City’s Comprehensive Plan, and we are confident his skills and experience will allow him to hit the ground running.”
Campbell replaces Joseph Gall, who began a position as Chief Utility Relations Officer with Clean Water Services in May. Campbell will begin his duties on October 7, 2021. Kristen Switzer, Sherwood’s Community Services Director, has served as City Manager Pro Tem since Gall’s departure and will continue to serve in that role until Campbell’s arrival.
