The Sherwood Police Department offers the following advice if you are ever faced with an aggressive dog:
1. Don't panic, dogs really can sense fear.
2. Be like a tree and avoid any movement that could be perceived as threatening, don't stare at the dog & don't run.
3. Command the dog to get away and go home.
4. If the dog begins to bite you, fight back and protect your face, chest and throat and do what is needed to protect yourself.
