Volunteering at the Sherwood Center for the Arts
Make a difference in your community at the Center for the Arts! When you donate your time, talents and skills, you support and enhance the art center’s programs, services and mission. Plus you give the art center the ability to stretch tax dollars and improve the lives of its citizens.
Frequently Asked Questions:
- What volunteer jobs are available?
We have volunteers help as ushers, classroom assistants, greeters, assisting at various programs, and so much more. Have another idea for how you can help? Contact the Volunteer Coordinator.
- What time commitment is expected of me as a Center for the Arts Volunteer?
It varies considerably depending on the time of year. It could be 0-4 times each month for 1-3 hour shifts.
- Do I have to have a set schedule?
At this time we don't have a need for volunteers to help weekly like in other departments. An email is sent out to our volunteer team when an event(s) is upcoming. It could be 0-4 times each month.
- How old do I need to be before I can volunteer?
Generally, applicants who are 14 years of age will be considered for arts center volunteer positions. However there are exceptions. Contact the Volunteer Coordinator to find out what might be available.
- I am interested in volunteering! What do I do next?
Apply online here. When a position is available, the Volunteer Coordinator will contact you to schedule an interview to see what position might be a good fit for you.
- Have questions about volunteering?
Contact the City's Volunteer Coordinator, Tammy Steffens, at 503.625.4213 or steffenst@sherwoodoregon.gov.
