"If I Were Mayor..." 2023-24 Student Contest
The Oregon Mayors Association "If I Were Mayor..." 2023-24 contest is now closed. For more information, including examples of previous winning entries for each category, please visit the OMA website.
Contest Information
One winning student will be selected from each category below:
- Elementary School (grade 4-5) - Posters Contest (Photo of poster can be PNG, JPEG, or PDF files)
- Middle School (grade 6-8) - Essay Contest (Word, PDF, PowerPoint or online essay format)
- High School (grades 9-12) - Digital Media Presentations (Videos only, MP4 or online video format)
Statewide first place winners from each category will win $500 and will receive their prizes at the OMA Summer Conference awards luncheon in Klamath Falls, July 18-20, 2024. Winners will be contacted in June for travel arrangements. Statewide first-place winners will be recognized by a press release sent to the local media, acknowledgment in the OMA quarterly newsletter, and on the OMA website. Sherwood winners will be recognized at a future City Council meeting.
