Chinese Lion Costume for the Lion Dance

The Sherwood Public Library is honored to offer the Chinese Lion Dance as part of its Summer Reading program this year.

This program is in memory of Theresa Kaishin Stanley and is sponsored by Mr. & Mrs. Stanley.

In Chinese culture, the lion symbolizes power, wisdom, and superiority. People perform lion dances at Chinese festivals or big occasions to bring good fortune and chase away evil spirits. The lion dance is also a way to create a festive atmosphere and bring happiness.

All ages.
