Tax Resources at the Library
We have limited quantities of printed Federal and Oregon Forms, and Federal Instruction Booklets. This page will have more information about free tax help both virtually and in person as it becomes available.
For Tax Year 2023, you will still use the redesigned Form 1040, which has form 1040-SR for people ages 65 and older included. According to the IRS, many people will only need to file Form 1040 or 1040-SR and no schedules.
However, if your return is more complicated (for example you claim certain deductions or credits, or owe additional taxes) you will need to complete one or more of the new Form 1040 Schedules.
See below for links to specific federal tax forms and to Oregon tax forms.
Federal Forms
- Limited Federal 1040 Forms and Instructions are provided for free at the library.
- You can print out paper copies of all IRS forms and instruction booklets on the IRS website.
- Federal tax form 1040, its instruction booklet, and schedules 1, 2, and 3 can all be found and printed at this link.
- Federal tax Instruction booklets can be found on the IRS website: specific federal forms can also be found on the IRS website.
- Forms and instructions can be mailed to individual residences on request by visiting this link or calling 1-800-829-3676.
State Tax Forms
- The Oregon Department of Revenue no longer sends state tax booklets to any libraries.
- You can print out paper copies of all state tax forms from the Department of Revenue website.
- You can order paper forms at the Department of Revenue website or call 1-800-356-4222.
- Library staff can assist you in locating and printing state tax forms. We will have a supply of pre-printed Oregon 40 forms and tax tables.
