National Library Week, April 3-9, 2022

This April 3-9, 2022, we encourage all community members to visit the library. Sherwood Public Library offers a wide array of events, classes and resources--including citizenship classes, storytimes, hotspots and Chromebooks for checkout, book discussion groups, financial literacy, e-books, streaming videos, live virtual homework help, and more.

National Library Week and National Library Workers Day (Tuesday, April 5) is a time to highlight the essential role libraries, librarians and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening communities. “Did you know we do all we do with a staff of 20 amazing and talented people on our team? You meet our team at the front desk, in the stacks, at events and classes, when reaching out to us on the phone and via email, or through the work behind-the-scenes with selecting and ordering new materials, getting those materials added to the catalog and ready for checkout, wrangling our technology, managing workflows and schedules, and guiding strategic plans and goals. A big shout out to Adam, Amanda, Annette, April, Becky, Constance, Crystal, Eleanor, Gordon, Gwen, Heather, Jaime, Jenny, Jessica, Joy, Marcy, Olivia, Rachel, and Rose! The theme for this year's National Library Week is "Connect with Your Library," to promote our commitment to equal access to technology and also connecting communities to each other. Look for new in-person events this month, along with some of our standards on Zoom, for your opportunity to connect with community with us.
